She (click here for track listing) A few lines from a review in the March 2006 issue of Keyboard Player by Joan Dovenor:
"For the past two years, Penny Weedon has taken part in
Cancer Research UK's Race for Life which r A compilation of melodies inspired by women might be considered somewhat predictable, but the artiste's musical approach here is anything but. This release is a pure delight from start to finish. This is a totally piano-based recording, albeit courtesy of Yamaha Tyros. Amongst the 21 tracks, all freshly arranged by Penny Weedon, you will find relaxing cocktail piano-style melodies, vibrant jazz combo numbers, tinkling piano pieces awash with orchestral strings, pop and big band backings and much, much more. Half a dozen bars of How to Handle a Woman, and I was whisked back in the fabulous Hotel de Crillon in Paris, recalling some of the most exquisite food I've ever tasted and one of the finest cocktail pianists in the business. Duke Ellington's Sophisticated Lady has appeared in many forms down the years, but this solo piano arrangement can hold its own against any of them.
Do you really want me to go on, or are you going to get
out there and buy a copy?" HOW TO ORDER To purchase any of these albums, please contact PenTone Music
